The trials and tribulations of college life... Yesterday was a day when I did absolutely no schoolwork. None. I didn't pick up a single book, run any of my errands, or even go to my only class. I would be rather bummed at myself, had it not been for all the shooting I did instead. Basically I woke up at an ungodly hour (1pm), and upon realizing I had wasted half a day of beautiful Texas spring, I tore off the sleeves to a t-shirt (to combat my farmer's tan), put on my favorite running shoes and basketball shorts, grabbed my camera, and ran outside. My aim for the afternoon was street photography. Closer and more IN YO FACE than I had ever attempted. Having previously gotten a nice feel for my campus on my past architecture shoots, and my assignments for the yearbook, I had a fair sense of where to go and what to look at for my shots. Anyway, too much typing; I suck at words anyway.
Later that evening, I walked over to Texas Revue, UT's big student-run talent show. It was held at the main mall, right at the base of the tower, which made for some fun shooting. It had quite a large attendance, and I even managed to run into one of my best friends, Alicia. Though I wasn't on assignment, I pretended like I was and strode all the way up to the stage, rubbing elbows with Texan and Cactus (the school paper and yearbook, respectively) photographers right on the side of the stage, and in front of it, getting some pretty usable shots. I was still in my "workout photog " style- what with my cut off sleeves and my basketball shorts, so I must have looked pretty ballin' in front of those hundreds of people watching the show.
PEACE.
